Liquid supplements introduce a measurement problem capsules do not have, and most of the inconsistency in this category comes from one ambiguous term.
What a dropper actually holds
A full dropper means one complete squeeze and release of the bulb, which draws liquid to roughly the halfway mark of the pipette - approximately one millilitre on a standard supplement dropper. It does not mean filling the pipette to the brim, which would be closer to two millilitres and would double your intended dose. This is the single most common error with dropper supplements and it is worth checking against your own bottle's graduation marks before your first dose.
Getting consistency
Shake the bottle before every use, since ingredients in liquid suspensions settle and an unshaken bottle delivers a different dose at the top than at the bottom. Squeeze the bulb fully, release once, then let the liquid settle before reading it against the marks. Hold the dropper vertically. Do not top up with a second squeeze, which introduces air and inconsistency. If your pipette has no marks, a cheap oral syringe from any pharmacy gives an accurate measure. Do not touch the dropper to your tongue and return it to the bottle - that contaminates a product you will use for another month.

See Cognizil PricingTiming and starting dose
Take it at the same time each day, since consistency matters more than the specific hour for cumulative mechanisms. Bacopa is fat-soluble and generally better absorbed with food, and taking herbal extracts with a meal also reduces the chance of stomach upset - so with food is the sensible default for this formula despite the general supplement folklore about empty stomachs. Start at a reduced dose for the first week to assess tolerance, particularly given the Huperzine-A content, which also extends the life of your first bottle during evaluation. More is not better here and increases the likelihood of cholinergic and digestive effects.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Simple once-daily timing supports good adherence
- Dose adjustable by volume, unlike fixed capsules
- Starting reduced extends the first bottle during evaluation
- Taking with food suits Bacopa absorption and reduces upset
Cons
- Dropperful is ambiguous and commonly over-measured
- Requires shaking before every use, which is easy to forget
- Undisclosed amounts mean the dose cannot be evaluated against research
- Huperzine-A dose-sensitivity makes over-measurement more consequential

Verdict
Shake, one full bulb squeeze, taken with food at a consistent time. Start reduced for the first week. The dropperful ambiguity is the main source of dosing error and is worth resolving against your own pipette marks.
